Cost effective solutions for providing enhanced cellular reception to large outdoor areas is most certainly possible and available from JDTECK.
People who are located in rural communities, ranches, oil rigs, RV parks, and remote construction sites are affected by poor cellular reception due to shadow areas created by hills, mountains, tall trees, and/or the sheer distance of the nearest cell tower. They may want to consider an outdoor repeater solution as a viable option to their communication problems. This solution can provide both voice and data communication where it was once not possible.
Relaying a signal from one point to another is what an outdoor cellular repeater solution will do for you. It is important to note however that this type of solution carries with it an increased potential for signal oscillation (feedback). Therefore, careful attention to antenna placement for both your donor and service sector antennas is needed for a successful deployment.

Power, which is rated in dBm, is needed to move a signal from point A to point B and the greatest resistance to moving a signal from one point to another is open air loss. For example, a minimum of 30dB is needed to wirelessly move a cellular signal 3ft from its transmitting point. You will therefore understand that the notion of many who think that two high gain yagi antennas tethered back to back will be able to move a signal over the top of a hill, or around some obstruction will never work. It will not even be able to jump the signal as little as 3ft, much less several hundred ft over a hill. Sheer power is needed to do this.
The solution we customize for you depends on the size of the area you need to cover and your specific requirements. We have built many entry level outdoor solutions that range from between $1600 - $2900. Other larger systems covering several acres can range from $4000 to $7500. Large high powered outdoor repeaters covering several miles start from about $12,000+ (all dual band solutions). Please note all of these estimates are for equipment only and do not include the additional infrastructure which needed to complete the deployment. Towers, a power source, conduit, and labor will also be required. There are many suppliers that produce competitively priced towers that can start from just under $1000. Some customers have even used power poles of about 50-60ft in height. This can also work quite well.

In many applications getting AC power to your repeater is possible and for others it's not. For applications where AC power is not available, solar power is a viable alternative. JDTECK will soon be offering solar solutions where cellular deployment can take place anywhere. Meanwhile, we can supply 12v configurations if you decide to source your own solar powered solution.
