CFIA //Case Study

In March 2010, JDTECK was approached by the Canadian Government to provide a solution to improve cellular reception at their Food Inspection Agency facility in Lethbridge, a city located in the province of Alberta Canada. This is a 65,000 sq ft metal / concrete building that was greatly affected by very poor in-building cellular reception.
For security reasons, we could not be provided with detailed plans of the location, but a silhouette view of the foot print was provided. From this, we were able to design a very comprehensive layout of the system which included outdoor coverage to a nearby residence for officials.
Upon receipt of the equipment, which included our wiring diagram, the installation was completed by their in-house engineering team. When the system was commissioned, the results were less than satisfactory in certain parts of the building and the overall performance of system was not up to par. However, from specific information requested, we were able to identify the trouble spots. Although the engineer was pretty sure he got it right, we were very sure of what the fault was. Upon further inspection by their team, our over the phone technical support was spot on. Corrective action was taken and the system then performed beautifully.
The agent was just blown away by how we could figure out the problem without even seeing what was done or even being there. The system now provides seamless in-building cellular coverage for the Canadian Food Inspection Agency where they can now go about their daily activities more efficiently.
